Like all snowdrops, galanthus woronowii produces stems of small white flowers at the end of winter. The leaves are a fuller and a lusher green than other snowdrop varieties, forming a pleasing dense clump in spring. Lovely at the front of borders, through grass and in woodland settings
- Planting location: Suitable for beds, borders, rockeries, containers or naturalising
- Soil moisture: Moist & well drained
- Flowering period: Jan-Feb, Planting period: Aug-Dec
- Hardiness: H4 – Hardy through most of the UK (-10 to -5°C)
- Plant in a sunny or lightly shaded spot. Dig compost into the planting hole before planting. In heavy clay soils add horticultural grit to the bottom of the planting hole. In the growing season, water plants in containers during dry spells. Top dress with a general purpose plant food as the last flowers fade. Allow foliage to die down naturally. Flowering results improve each year
