The Valspar Trade Exterior Direct to Wood & Metal Paint is a premium, water-based exterior paint that dries quickly and becomes showerproof in just 30 minutes. Specially formulated for use on bare or rusty metal, including cast iron, galvanised steel, aluminium, and stainless steel, it’s also ideal for exterior wood and timber surfaces.

• Surface Preparation – Do not apply in damp or humid conditions. Apply when the temperature of the surface being painted is above 10°C. The surface must be clean, dry and free of dust and grease. Remove any loose rust.
• Instructions for Use – Stir contents to ensure paint is thoroughly mixed. Purchase enough paint to complete the job. When purchasing more than one container of the same colour, intermix containers to ensure colour uniformity. If applying to previously painted wood or metal, lightly sand with 240grit sandpaper. Apply 2–3 coats using a suitable brush, roller or sprayer. If spraying, dilute with 10% water. We recommend 3 coats for rusty metal. Avoid excessive brushing. Do not thin this product if applying with a brush or roller. Dries to the touch in about 1 hour under normal conditions. Allow 2-4 hours between coats. Can be used on exterior metals; cast iron, galvanised steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
