These ties play a crucial role in providing structural stability and creating a secure connection between the two components. The fishtail end is embedded into the mortar joint between the external masonry (brick or block) during construction, and the other end is fixed to the internal timber frame. This shape is designed to provide a secure and reliable connection between the timber frame and the masonry.
