This adapter can be used in a ‘1 to 2’ or ‘2 to 1’ configuration. A source can be plugged into one end so 2 indentical outputs are created, or, it can be used the other way round, where 2 sources are plugged into one end to create a single output. For example, using the first method, a CD player could be used to create 2 identical outputs into 2 separate amplifiers. Using the second method, a DVD player and CD player could be plugged into the adapter, to create only one output. Obviously, only one of the devices could be used at once.
